The Rheumatoid Arthritis Coach knows first hand that this disease isn’t limited to physical symptoms alone. The short time I have worked with Stefanie so far has already provided me with invaluable resources to help me take control over my life while better managing my RA.
As I was going through an incredibly long prior-authorization for a new biologic, Stefanie took into account the stressors I was experiencing during our sessions, making the application of newly acquired skills easy for me. She helped me to understand the power of perspective; breaking down the key points of what forms a person’s perspective leading to a reaction. I am finally able to recognize that there are things in life I have no control over. What I do have control over is how I respond to those circumstances. Using Stefanie’s techniques, I am able to effectively recourse my way of thinking from negative to positive; thus avoiding the intense physical effect stress has on my Rheumatoid Arthritis. This has truly proven to be an extremely useful tool that I now practice daily.
In addition to addressing thinking patterns, Stefanie has provided me with the resources and guidance to track both my eating habits and physical symptoms on a day-to-day basis. Her support has been nothing but encouraging in nature and tracking my diet and correlating symptoms has allowed me to identify certain triggers for flares that I otherwise would have missed entirely. Knowing these particular triggers and how they affect my body makes me feel empowered and confident when making decisions regarding my diet; quite the opposite of how I felt previously.
I can honestly say I have benefited both mentally and physically from my coaching sessions with Stefanie. Being both a medical professional and a Rheumatoid Arthritis patient herself, she is able to help others from a truly unique and knowledgeable perspective. Moving forward I plan to continue to utilize these new techniques in order to better manage my Rheumatoid Arthritis every day.
